It is an age old saying that Ireland would be perfect if you could put a roof over it. We at Delphi disagree, or at least don't see the need for a roof, it is stunning here and action packed regardless of what the weather is doing. You can go for a walk in the forest and check out the dramatic, cloudy mountain views or go on a sea kayaking trip on the mist covered fjord and then you'll already be wet!!
There is plenty to do and see in Ireland that is unhindered by rain or snow. If it's raining why not go visit some indoor local attractions such as Westport house, Kylemore Abbey or just hit the shops, swimming pool or cinema. If it's snowing then wrap up, hang up the car keys and take the kids out building snowmen and sliding down hills on sleds.
Once you have a good water proof jacket, warm clothes and a good hat, gloves and scarf then you can just get stuck in. Remember what it's like to get so wet that you don't care about it any more and you will happily splash around in puddles like a 5 year old, it's very therapeutic. In Delphi we have a saying, "There's no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing!"
